Even Nestle products may have Contaminated Milk

Scarly.. now even the Big Brand like Nestle may have contaminated milk in their products. Read this news below...............

Hong Kong's two largest supermarket chains said they pulled Chinese-made Nestle milk products from their shelves. Wellcome supermarket chain, owned by Dairy Farm International Holdings Ltd., is withdrawing six Nestle milk-formula products, Marketing Director Diane Chiu said in a phone interview. ParknShop, owned by billionaire Li Ka-shing, pulled two Nestle formula products, spokeswoman Rita Wong said.

The Hong Kong government said its Centre for Food Safety found a sample of Nestle Dairy Farm Pure Milk contained melamine in amounts that weren't likely to cause health problems. Authorities in Hong Kong have declared Nestle's Neslac Gold 1+ formula to be safe after finding it contained no melamine, the Vevey, Switzerland-based food producer said in a statement on its Web site.

Nestle SA, the world's largest food company, said it is ``confident'' its dairy products aren't made from milk tainted with melamine, following a scandal with contaminated milk in China. A sample of milk for catering use tested in Hong Kong was found to contain only traces of the chemical, well below the amount considered harmful by international standards, Nestle spokesman Robin Tickle said today in a telephone interview.
